Description : This kind of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (Special Edition) does excellent, simple to use along with adjust. The price of this became lower when compared with other places we researches, and not considerably more than comparable product or service

This specific obcject gives surpasses the prospect, that one has chaned into a fantastic upgrade on personally, The theory arrived correctly and also speedily Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (Special Edition)

Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is no ordinary archeologist. When we first see him, he is somewhere in the Peruvian jungle in 1936, running a booby-trapped gauntlet (complete with an over-sized rolling boulder) to fetch a solid-gold idol. He loses this artifact to his chief rival, a French archeologist named Belloq (Paul Freeman), who then prepares to kill our hero. In the first of many serial-like escapes, Indy eludes Belloq by hopping into a convenient plane. So, then: is Indiana Jones afraid of anything? Yes, snakes. The next time we see Jones, he's a soft-spoken, bespectacled professor. He is then summoned from his ivy-covered environs by Marcus Brody (Denholm Elliott) to find the long-lost Ark of the Covenant. The Nazis, it seems, are already searching for the Ark, which the mystical-minded Hitler hopes to use to make his stormtroopers invincible. But to find the Ark, Indy must first secure a medallion kept under the protection of Indy's old friend Abner Ravenwood, whose daughter, Marion (Karen Allen), evidently has a "history" with Jones. Whatever their personal differences, Indy and Marion become partners in one action-packed adventure after another, ranging from wandering the snake pits of the Well of Souls to surviving the pyrotechnic unearthing of the sacred Ark. A joint project of Hollywood prodigies George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with a script co-written by Lawrence Kasdan and Philip Kaufman, among others, Raiders of the Lost Ark is not so much a movie as a 115-minute thrill ride. Costing 22 million dollars (nearly three times the original estimate), Raiders of the Lost Ark reaped 200 million dollars during its first run. It was followed by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1985) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), as well as a short-lived TV-series "prequel."It’s said that the original is the greatest, and there can be no more vivid proof than Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first and indisputably best of the initial three Indiana Jones adventures cooked up by the dream team of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Expectations were high for this 1981 collaboration between the two men, who essentially invented the box office blockbuster with ‘70s efforts like Jaws and Star Wars, and Spielberg (who directed) and Lucas (who co-wrote the story and executive produced) didn’t disappoint. This wildly entertaining film has it all: non-stop action, exotic locations, grand spectacle, a hero for the ages, despicable villains, a beautiful love interest, humor, horror… not to mention lots of snakes. And along with all the bits that are so familiar by now--Indy (Harrison Ford) running from the giant boulder in a cave, using his pistol instead of his trusty whip to take out a scimitar-wielding bad guy, facing off with a hissing cobra, and on and on--there’s real resonance in a potent storyline that brings together a profound religious-archaeological icon (the Ark of the Covenant, nothing less than "a radio for speaking to God") and the 20th century’s most infamous criminals (the Nazis). Now that’s entertainment. --Sam Graham

Review :
Not-so-Special Edition... great film, anemic extras
"Raiders of the Lost Ark" is universally considered to be an extremely entertaining action/adventure movie, so I won't waste your time reviewing the film itself. If you've already seen it, you know it's awesome; if you haven't... well, to quote Indiana Jones himself: "Trust me." It actually does live up to the hype. What's truly important for those thinking about purchasing this "special edition," however, is a discussion of the bonus material.

The extras on this disc definitely do NOT warrant purchasing this edition if you already own the previously-released Indy Trilogy DVD set. The extras can basically be summed up in a word: "meh." Each of the handful of featurettes is around 10 minutes or less, and there are no surprises. Some brief "making-of" clips from the filming of "Raiders" are semi-interesting, but are all very short. Another featurette is just a bunch of actors from the series making bland comments about how great Indiana Jones is, set to overly-familiar clips...
Spielberg and Lucas create the best action movie of all time
After the box-office disappointment of 1941, Steven Spielberg teamed up with longtime friend George Lucas to create one of the greatest action adventure films of all time! The premise for the film, a throwback to the old Saturday morning serials, was thought up by Lucas, who told the idea to Steven and the two of them came up with the idea of Indiana Jones, a character famously named after Lucas's dog. To think they originally wanted Tom Selleck to play the role of the rugged, charming "collector of rare antiquities". Instead, Harrison Ford took the role, fresh from the latest Star Wars film THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK as the dashing Han Solo. Ford is the perfect guy for the job, running around in tombs, chasing after Nazis and searching for lost treasures, all with fedora, whip and sardonic grin all in place.
The action is masterfully handled by Spielberg, especially in the classic opening scene where Indy avoids a series of lethal booby traps to obtain a rare idol, only to have a...
New Raiders Special Collector's Edition due out May 13th, 2008! Great movie, good DVD
The details of new DVD editions of the three classic classic Indiana Jones movies with all-new special features have been announced. They'll be available separately for the first time on DVD, or as a set. They were previously only available on DVD as a set.

The new releases will coincide with the new movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which comes out on May 22nd. They'll have new special features designed to introduce new Indy fans to the old movies, and to introduce old fans to the new movie.

The Indiana Jones movies are George Lucas's recreation/update of the serialized adventures of the 1930s and '40s. The first three were made in the '80s and set in the '30s. They feature Harrison Ford as a mild-mannered archeology professor who moonlights as an adventurous seeker of priceless antiquities. This takes him to exotic locations across the world, and gets him in some very tight spots of the kind that only a movie hero could get into,...

Description : This kind of NCIS: Season 8 functions fantastic, simple to use and adjust. The price for this wa reduced compered to other areas My spouse and i explored, and not much more as compared to equivalent merchendise

This unique item Offer surpass own prospect, this place has turned into a great buy for myself, The theory showed up properly and also swiftly NCIS: Season 8

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is more than just an action drama. With liberal doses of humor, it's a show that focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team of special agents forced to work together in high-stress situations. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents travel the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties. It's no wonder that NCIS is such a wildly popular series. The show takes an irresistible and mysterious setting--the behind-the-scenes world of military criminal investigation--and sets engaging crime procedurals within it, with a dream cast. Mark Harmon, never better, is Special Agent Gibbs, a flinty ex-marine who brooks no nonsense but who also inspires deep devotion from his team. Assisting him are his sometime sidekick Agent DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), lab specialist Abby (the perky-goth Pauley Perrette), computer whiz Agent McGee (Sean Murray), cool-as-ice Ziva (Cote de Pablo), and criminal pathologist Dr. Mallard, a.k.a. Ducky (David McCallum). This season also sees much more of the nerdy, earnest Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), who's coming into his own as a cast member. Season eight of NCIS resolves the cliffhanger from the last season before diving into the deep end of some heavy-duty investigations, but always leavened by humor and camaraderie. This season the team tackles a seemingly random child kidnapping, a horrifying serial killer (the "Port-to-Port Killer") seeming to target the navy, terrorist threads real and potential, the infiltration of interns, and lots of intrigue, subterfuge, and double and even triple agents. Guest stars include Robert Wagner, William Devane, and Bob Newhart. The action is all heightened with the backdrop of a very real war, and very real battle-scarred sailors and marines returning home to a new, challenging home landscape.

Yet somehow the talented writers of NCIS can tell these taxing plots with plenty of humor and wisecracking. This set contains six discs and all 24 episodes (including the directorial debut episode of Weatherly, which happens to be very well done), and tons of extras. It's delightful to see that the chemistry of the cast is as real and affable off-screen as on-screen. Features include a look at the entire story arc of NCIS Director Vance (the steely Rocky Carroll); a conversation with NCIS writers; and a fascinating interview with Leon Carroll Jr., a technical adviser to the series. One engaging feature involves questions from the fans, in which each cast member answers a direct question. When one fan asks Weatherly how he would characterize DiNozzo's relationship with Gibbs, Weatherly cracks up, and says, "Well, it's a little bit father-son, a little bit Butch and Sundance--though I'm not sure who is who--and a little bit Turner and Hooch." Which is exactly why fans of NCIS keep coming back for more. --A.T. Hurley

New Mysteries To Solve...
"NCIS" continued its superb run as network TV's top-ranked drama series into its eighth season, blessed by the return of an outstanding core cast with its fun team chemistry, and some exciting and entertaining story lines.

Mark Harmon returns as crusty Senior Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, leader of the NCIS Major Case Response Team, assisted by Michael Weatherly as wise-cracking Special Agent Tony DiNozzo, Cote de Pablo as former Mossad agent/newly-minted Special Agent Ziva David, and Sean Murray as computer whiz Special Agent Tim McGee, backed by Pauley Parrette as unique forensic tech Abby Sciuto and David McCallum as venerable medical examiner "Ducky" Mallard.

The season opener resolves last season's cliffhanger, the team's deadly confrontation with a drug cartel targeting Special Agent Gibbs. A midseason multi-episode segment reveals the complicated backstory of NCIS Director Leon Vance and his Israeli counterpart, while bringing Ziva face to face with...
The best season to date **SPOILERS**
Season 8 picked up where season 7 left off, but the quality was 100x better, first, we see a duo of episodes dedicated to the past of Director Leon Vance, and how he first came to join NCIS, I'm personally not a Leon fan, but these episodes damn well nearly changed my mind. Secondly, we see a Special Agent Caitlin Todd-centric episode, via flashback of course. One missing scene, and a new speaking part (Sasha recorded specifically for this episode) dubbed over an old scene, finally, rounding out our collection of blast to the past episodes is a DiNozzo centric episode, the inside jokes in this one, as well as the Vance one are legendary.

Jenny is mentioned a lot, too, a flashback of her is seen in the Kate episode, also.

NCIS continues to deliver great storylines, and this season is one of, if not the, best, with Special Guest Stars such as the brilliant Sarah Jane Morris and Kerr Smith, as well as some making their final appearances, ie Muse Watson (Mike), this...
Best Season Yet!
NCIS continues to surprise me. I always think that the next season cannot be as good as the last, but somehow the story, the characters and the plot continue to grow and evolve. Season eight was my favourite season so far. I think the running plot of the port to port killer really added an extra element to the series, especially when he seems to have focused his attention upon Gibbs. Some of my favourite episodes happen in this series and I think one of the most shocking episodes that rivals, Kate's Death, happens in this series. I cannot find enough words to say all the good things I want to say about this series. I hope that Season Nine continues in the same direction as Season Eight. A recommended buy!

The Complete Rawhide Packaged At A Fair Price
An excellent series in 3 plastic clam shell mega-Amaray packs, which are together in a cardboard housing that contains all 217 episodes from 8 seasons (January 9, 1959-December 7, 1965). Each case holds 2 or 3 seasons, with a disc on either side of a plastic page. These pages protect each disc, while making them accessible, by flipping, like pages in a book. Episode titles are listed on the discs, and can also be cross referenced with titles and air dates listed by season on the inside covers of each Amaray pack. Lots of content packed into a small space. One problem is that these pages are not anchored to the inside of the cases. If you opened the clam shell without knowing this, the pages holding 20 DVD's, which are hinged together at the base, could slide out and fall to the floor. I've deducted one star off for this, and one for the poor quality of season 4, which was unremastered, both for it's original release and for this set. In another situation, CBS remastered season 10 of...
Unremastered Season 4
When CBS/Paramount was releasing Rawhide, somehow they ended up releasing Season 4 without having digitally remastering it. The Season 4 prints were terrible; muddy, washed out, below even VHS quality.

It would be nice if CBS/Paramount would correct that and remaster Season 4 for this release. Indications are they are not going to be doing that. Write to them or post on here; maybe it will grab their attention enough so that they will do something.

RAWHIDE.....Keeps On ROLLIN',,,,,,!!!!! - Complete Episode List With Guest Stars
Although Eric Fleming is the star of Rawhide, Eastwood is the main reason for the popularity of the western genre today, prominently featured on the cover of this DVD box set, his depiction as The Man With No Name, in the spaghetti westerns of the late 60's regenerated an interest in westerns that has lasted until today.

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is more than just an action drama. With liberal doses of humor, it's a show that focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team of special agents forced to work together in high-stress situations. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents travel the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties."A few months ago, I had not even heard of NCIS," a terrorist remarks in the gripping season opener, "Truth or Consequences," a benchmark episode. Where's he been? NCIS was television's top-rated scripted drama, an impressive achievement for a show in its seventh season. NCIS may not have any Emmys to its credit or generate water cooler buzz, but it's got a devoted fan base who will follow Special Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the rest of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service wherever their investigations take them. In the brilliantly constructed and executed "Truth or Consequences," it's North Africa, where movie-referencing hunk Special Agent DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and McGee (Sean Murray) have been captured while investigating Ziva's disappearance. For uninitiated "probies," this episode serves as a series primer as DiNozzo, tied to a chair and shot up with sodium pentothal, gives a rundown to his captor about the rest of the team and their standing in the NCIS universe. There is considerable comfort to be taken in the show's format. Episodes usually begin with discovery of a shocking and grisly murder, then office banter and byplay until Gibbs announces said crime ("We got a dead marine, grab your gear") and then the labyrinthine investigation leading to an act 4 twist. This isn't Law and Order, where sometimes the guilty walk. This is NCIS and justice is always served. But it's not the crimes; it's the characters that are at the heart of this series' enduring popularity. This season provides Ziva (Cote de Pablo) with an especially satisfying arc as she quits the Mossad to become an actual NCIS agent and studies for her United States citizenship exam. Her will they-won't they romantic tension with DiNozzo simmers satisfactorily over the course of the season. Season 7 comes full circle with Gibbs's capture by Mexican drug cartel leader Paloma Reynosa, seeking revenge for Gibbs's murder of her father. She offers him a career change. "You might as well put a bullet in my head," Gibbs predictably replies. But she ups the ante in an unspeakably bad way that is the stuff season-ending cliffhangers are made of. This DVD contains interesting special features that immerse viewers in the production of the series, from the sound design to the design of Gibbs's house, which is seen for the first time this season. --Donald Liebenson

NCIS, best show out there :) **MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS**
Ok, now this review might sound strange, BUT.....

I am a late comer to NCIS, for several reasons. Over May, feeling a little under the weather and getting tired of all the stuff I already had on DVD, I bought seasons 1-6...I had only watched the shows in re-runs on USA and had occasionally watched some episodes of season 7 online (I had to cancel my TV service).

WOW....is all I can say. From the pilot (Yankee White) in season 1 to the episode Aaliyah (season 6); this cast/crew has my attention. And, I guess they're going to keep it for a while. The fact it is character driven, to me as a viewer, is more important than story-driven. It's the people we as viewers attach ourselves to, who we learn to love/hate each week. Who we connect with, some for different reasons.

I've had a hate/love relationship with Mark Harmon and his characters through his many projects. Who could forget he played Ted Bundy?

Each character has their own place in our...
NCIS 7
Not only will I recommend the 7th season of this show, I recommend the other 6 seasons. When the original pilot was a spin off of JAG, I said that I would not watch this show because Mark Harmon was not one of my favorite actors. But I watch it anyway. So, as I said earlier, I own the first six seasons and have pre-ordered the 7th season. Not only do I like Harmon but the entire cast is the best. This is my number one show on TV.The Mentalist is my number 2. I even watch reruns more than other 1st run shows. The whole cast works so well together. When Kate was killed off I thought that it would really changed the show. But I'm glad to say it didn't. If you haven't watched NCIS, give it a try and I think you will be hooked.

The Best TV Show Of All Time...
Well, the time has come for Season 7 to be released (less than 1 week to go in fact) so I thought I'd weigh in with my thoughts and opinions.

First, NCIS is the best TV show of all time. I know that over the years there have been some pretty close calls but I have to say, in my opinion, NCIS just edges them out. Being a big fan of the "good wins over bad" type of shows you can see why I love this team. I must admit that I did find M.A.S.H a close 2nd favourite and I do like JAG, CSI (Original instead of spin-off's), Third Watch and Alias etc but NCIS is still Number 1 for me.

Second, this team is amazing. Not only the actors but the director, producer, costume & set design, special effects, sound and vision and especially the writers. I even think that the camera crews and catering and make up - gee, even the cleaning staff deserve a mention. Each person contributes to the show in his or her own way and that's what makes such a lasting impression for the fans...

BLUE BLOODS is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as commissioner. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny, a seasoned detective, family man, and Iraqi War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases. The sole Reagan woman in the family, Erin, is a N.Y. Assistant D.A. and newly single parent, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family's "golden boy;" however, unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a newly minted cop. Jamie's life takes an abrupt turn when he's asked to

Blue Bloods Continues to be One of the Best Programs on TV
So far, after watching the first 12+ episodes of the second season, this is shaping up to be an excellent second season.

The show combines a quality police drama with strong relationships - especially within the Reagan family who are the focus of the show.

It's also nice not to have to put up with excessive language and crude comments.

All of the actors and actresses are top notch - especially Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan) and Tom Selleck (NYPD Commissioner Reagan).

The first season release has a nice slim case, episode descriptions and several extras. I'm anticipating something similar in season 2. Picture and sound quality are top notch on the Season 1 DVD release. Even though I would like a Blu-ray release, the DVD picture is sharp and clear on Season 1.

I will probably update this review periodically throughout the season and then when it is actually released on DVD (or Blu-ray).

THE BEST ON TV
This is an OUTSTANDING series that we look forward to watching every Friday night. We wish their were more series like this one instead of all the 'Reality' nonsense out there. The entire cast is terrific and we love the Family Dinners they have. We just wish they were longer. GREAT GREAT Show!

The Reagan Family Returns...
"Bluebloods", about a family of New York policemen, returns for a second strong season with CBS in 2011. Having vanquished the corrupt and lethal Blue Templars last season, the Reagan family, led by Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), will face new challenges on the streets of New York City. The family includes his daughter Erin (Bridget Moynahan), an assistant district attorney; son Danny, a hard-charging detective; and youngest son Jamie, a new beat cop learning the ropes. The fine supporting cast includes Len Cariou as Frank's retired policemen father and Jennifer Esposito as Danny's detective partner Jackie Curatola.

The show continues to offer a nice balance of crime-of-the-week excitement and family interaction. Scenes around the Reagan family Sunday dinner table are a key component of the series, in which job squabbles and sibling rivalries get worked out with a little collective wisdom. Erin will juggle her legal duties with single parenthood of a...

John Blackthorne, an English ship pilot, whose vessel wrecked upon the Japanese coast in the early 17th century is forced to deal with the two most powerful men in Japan in these days. He is thrown in the midst of a war between Toranaga and Ishido, who struggle for the title of Shogun which will give ultimate power to the one who possesses it. What better way to escape from the onslaught of so-called reality television than to sail away with Richard Chamberlain to "the Japans" for a little samurai action and some discreet "pillowing"? From the golden age of the miniseries comes this television benchmark, the 10-hour, Golden Globe-winning saga based on James Clavell's bestselling epic. In his award-winning performance, Chamberlain stars as John Blackthorne, the 17th-century English navigator on a Dutch trading ship. A storm runs the ship aground off the coast of Japan, a "torn and cruelly divided country" locked in a power struggle between Toranaga (the venerable Toshiro Mifune) and Ishido, two warlords who would be Shogun. Blackthorne gets over his initial culture shock ("I piss on you and your country," he defiantly proclaims to his samurai captors, which to his humiliation turns out to be an unfortunate choice of words) to become a trusted ally of Toranaga and the lover of the beautiful interpreter Lady Mariko (YokoShimada). Their forbidden, ill-fated romance--and Blackthorne's total assimilation into Japanese culture--is set against political intrigue as Toranaga prepares for the inevitable showdown with Ishido, and Blackthorne's growing influence threatens the local Jesuits who had built up a lucrative trade monopoly. Shogun was a production blessed with good karma, and it remains an awesome achievement from a bygone era when the miniseries was king. --Donald Liebenson

Review :
Back with more action!...
The CBS military crime drama NCIS-Los Angeles returns for a thrilling fifth season in 2013-2014, along with its outstanding cast, crime of the week story lines, and hard-hitting action. The season opens with a resolution of the fourth season finale cliff-hanger, in which Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and LA Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) were undergoing torture at the hands of a vicious arms dealer out to buy some loose nuclear weapons. The NCIS team will mount a rescue of Sam and Deeks, but the effects of their captivity will linger on into the season. The missing nukes may take a bit longer to bring under control.

There are plenty of good plots this season. The NCIS team will deal with bio- and cyber terrorism, a mole within the Los Angeles law enforcement community, an attack on Los Angeles involving a runaway train, and a missing thumb-drive containing a plan for a terrorist attack, along with a Indian Army Nepali soldier operating far from...
Good old fashioned entertainment .....
Being an NCIS addict I was concerned that NCIS Los Angeles wouldn't compare but I was wrong, after the end of episode 1 I was hooked. Although they share Director Vance and occasionally use Abby, it is a totally different format with totally different characters. NCIS LA take on cases not necessarily closely connected to the Navy or Marine Corp and usually include chasing down terrorists, gun runners and European Mafia. It's action packed with a capital A and P. There are 2 sets of partners with Deeks on loan from the LAPD, 2 amazing computer analysts who know no boundaries when it comes to cyberspace and of course the head of NCIS LA, the amazing Henrietta Lang who has been with the Alphabet Soup and NCIS forever, she spear heads the team with her experience, wit and humour. So if you like fast action, humour and just good old fashioned entertainment, do not miss NCIS Los Angeles !!

Great franchise
Great characters, love the banter. This show stands on the capable shoulders of JAG and NCIS; in its 5th season, it is coming into its own and I look forward to many more. Love how Deeks and Nell's characters have developed into more central roles. LOVE Hetty and of course can't get enough of Sam and Callen. Keep up the great work!

Star Trek I : The Original Motion Picture
Back when the first Star Trek feature was released in December 1979, the Trek franchise was still relatively modest, consisting of the original TV series, an animated cartoon series from 1973-74, and a burgeoning fan network around the world. Series creator Gene Roddenberry had conceived a second TV series, but after the success of Star Wars the project was upgraded into this lavish feature film, which reunited the original series cast aboard a beautifully redesigned starship U.S.S. Enterprise. Under the direction of Robert Wise (best known for West Side Story), the film proved to be a mixed blessing for Trek fans, who heatedly debated its merits; but it was, of course, a phenomenal hit. Capt. Kirk (William Shatner) leads his crew into the vast structures surrounding V'Ger, an all-powerful being that is cutting a destructive course through Starfleet space. With his new First Officer (Stephen Collins), the bald and beautiful Lieutenant Ilia (played by the late Persis Khambatta) and his returning veteran crew, Kirk must decipher the secret of V'Ger's true purpose and restore the safety of the galaxy. The story is rather overblown and derivative of plots from the original series, and avid Trekkies greeted the film's bland costumes with derisive laughter. But as a feast for the eyes, this is an adventure worthy of big-screen trekkin'. Douglas Trumbull's visual effects are astonishing, and Jerry Goldmith's score is regarded as one of the prolific composer's very best (with its main theme later used for Star Trek: The Next Generation). And, fortunately for Star Trek fans, the expanded 143-minute version (originally shown for the film's network TV premiere) is generally considered an improvement over the original theatrical release. --Jeff Shannon

Star Trek II :The Wrath of Khan
Although Star Trek: The Motion Picture had been a box-office hit, it was by no means a unanimous success with Star Trek fans, who responded much more favorably to the "classic Trek" scenario of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Inspired by the "Space Seed" episode of the original TV series, the film reunites newly promoted Admiral Kirk with his nemesis from the earlier episode--the genetically superior Khan (Ricardo Montalban)--who is now seeking revenge upon Kirk for having been imprisoned on a desolated planet. Their battle ensues over control of the Genesis device, a top-secret Starfleet project enabling entire planets to be transformed into life-supporting worlds, pioneered by the mother (Bibi Besch) of Kirk's estranged and now-adult son. While Mr. Spock mentors the young Vulcan Lt. Saavik (then-newcomer Kirstie Alley), Kirk must battle Khan to the bitter end, through a climactic starship chase and an unexpected crisis that will cost the life of Kirk's closest friend. This was the kind of character-based Trek that fans were waiting for, boosted by spectacular special effects, a great villain (thanks to Montalban's splendidly melodramatic performance), and a deft combination of humor, excitement, and wondrous imagination. Director Nicholas Meyer (who would play a substantial role in the success of future Trek features) handles the film as a combination of Moby Dick, Shakespearean tragedy, World War II submarine thriller, and dazzling science fiction, setting the successful tone for the Trek films that followed. --Jeff Shannon

Star Trek III : The Search for Spock
You didn't think Mr. Spock was really dead, did you? When Spock's casket landed on the surface of the Genesis planet at the end of Star Trek II, we had already been told that Genesis had the power to bring "life from lifelessness." So it's no surprise that this energetic but somewhat hokey sequel gives Spock a new lease on life, beginning with his rebirth and rapid growth as the Genesis planet literally shakes itself apart in a series of tumultuous geological spasms. As Kirk is getting to know his estranged son (Merritt Butrick), he must also do battle with the fiendish Klingon Kruge (Christopher Lloyd), who is determined to seize the power of Genesis from the Federation. Meanwhile, the regenerated Spock returns to his home planet, and Star Trek III gains considerable interest by exploring the ceremonial (and, of course, highly logical) traditions of Vulcan society. The movie's a minor disappointment compared to Star Trek II, but it's a--well, logical--sequel that successfully restores Spock (and first-time film director Leonard Nimoy) to the phenomenal Trek franchise...as if he were ever really gone. With Kirk's willful destruction of the U.S.S. Enterprise and Robin Curtis replacing the departing Kirstie Alley as Vulcan Lt. Saavik, this was clearly a transitional film in the series, clearing the way for the highly popular Star Trek IV. --Jeff Shannon

Star Trek IV : The Voyage Home
Jumping on to the end-of-the-century bandwagon a little early, Paramount Pictures released 10 of their top films in one 10-pack, the Millennium Collection, in 1998. All the films are presented in their widescreen editions; one, Breakfast at Tiffany's, is offered in this format for the first time. The set includes 5 Best Picture Oscar winners and films that took home an additional 33 Academy Awards. All the tapes are available to buy individually. The pack, with a handsome mosaic of faces from the movies, also features collector gift cards (a movie version of baseball cards) and a commemorative booklet detailing the productions of all 10 films. The collection is oddly weighted toward the last 25 years, offering only one film from the 1950s and one from the 1960s. Your taste in current cinema will define the value of the set. Besides Tiffany's, one of Audrey Hepburn's finest films, the collection contains: The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, Grease with John Travolta, Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now and The Godfather, the funny, whale-saving Star Trek IV--The Voyage Home, Tom Cruise's hit Top Gun, the smash hit Ghost with Demi Moore, Mel Gibson's Celt fest Braveheart, and Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks. --Doug Thomas

Star Trek V :The Final Frontier
Movie critic Roger Ebert summed it up very succinctly: "Of all of the Star Trek movies, this is the worst." Subsequent films in the popular series have done nothing to disprove this opinion; we can be grateful that they've all been significantly better since this film was released in 1989. After Leonard Nimoy scored hits with Star Trek III and IV, William Shatner used his contractual clout (and bruised ego) to assume directorial duties on this mission, in which a rebellious Vulcan (Laurence Luckinbill) kidnaps Federation officials in his overzealous quest for the supreme source of creation. That's right, you heard it correctly: Star Trek V is about a crazy Vulcan's search for God. By the time Kirk, Spock, and their Federation cohorts are taken to the Great Barrier of the galaxy, this journey to "the final future" has gone from an embarrassing prologue to an absurd conclusion, with a lot of creaky plotting in between. Of course, die-hard Trekkies will still allow this movie into their video collections; but they'll only watch it when nobody else is looking. After this humbling experience, Shatner wisely relinquished the director's chair to Star Trek II's Nicholas Meyer. --Jeff Shannon

Star Trek VI : The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek V left us nowhere to go but up, and with the return of Star Trek II director Nicholas Meyer, Star Trek VI restored the movie series to its classic blend of space opera, intelligent plotting, and engaging interaction of stalwart heroes and menacing villains. Borrowing its subtitle (and several lines of dialogue) from Shakespeare, the movie finds Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) and his fellow Enterprise crew members on a diplomatic mission to negotiate peace with the revered Klingon Chancellor Gorkon (David Warner). When the high-ranking Klingon and several officers are ruthlessly murdered, blame is placed on Kirk, whose subsequent investigation uncovers an assassination plot masterminded by the nefarious Klingon General Chang (Christopher Plummer) in an effort to disrupt a historic peace summit. As this political plot unfolds, Star Trek VI takes on a sharp-edged tone, with Kirk and Spock confronting their opposing views of diplomacy, and testing their bonds of loyalty when a Vulcan officer is revealed to be a traitor. With a dramatic depth befitting what was to be the final movie mission of the original Star Trek crew, this film took the veteran cast out in respectably high style. With the torch being passed to the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation, only Kirk, Scotty, and Chekov would return, however briefly, in Star Trek: Generations. --Jeff Shannon

Review :
I've actually seen what I review!!!
I'm floored by the number of reviews here that give this a 1 star review, and then state that they haven't seen the movies. If you actually compare the picture quality with these new BDs to previous DVDs, you do see a vast improvement. Star Trek II, III, and IV have more consistant color and detail then what I saw in the DVDs. In previous editions of ST III, I always noticed an upped contrast in comparison to II and IV: but in this set, it's in line with all the other movies. There seems to be a lot of rumors here about what "Digitally Restored" is over "Digitally Remastered" (as TWOK was the only to get "Digitally Restored"). A digital restoration is when it's accessed that there has to be a new edit of the film due to the state of the print (it could be going in and adjusting color levels for consistancy or even digitally painting out blemishes). It seems Paramount found TWOK to be the only movie in need of a restoration: when you see the other movies on a HDTV, you can easily...
A Pleasant Surprise
Having just gone through my set of the Blu-Rays, I'm very happily surprised at the content. The only aspect keeping this from being a 4 or 5 star review is the fact that only the theatrical versions are available. Blu-Ray is specifically made to hold a great deal more data than any prior video or DVD format. Aside from the issues regarding the new effects of the director's cut of TMP, there's little reason (other than monetary) for Paramount to hold back the extended cuts. Seamless branching, used so successfully on the TOS first season set, would work equally well here.

The Motion Picture is another story, since the new effects were rendered for lower resolution and it will take time and, of course, money to rerender them. We can expect to see a Director's Edition release on BD in the near future, I'm sure. However, this does not excuse the lack of the inclusion of the extended TV cut put out on video.

Having said that, it is an amazing thrill having the...

This kind of thing Offer surpasses the prospect, this one has become a amazing buy for me personally, The concept appeared securely and also quickly NCIS: Season 10

We love NCIS!
We love watching NCIS. Our main reason for being hooked on the show is the wonderful characters. After watching them for season after season we feel like we know them. ( When out shopping a few weeks ago we saw some scull patterned pajama bottoms and I started to tell my husband "we should get these for Abby.") We love how the characters have developed over the years and love how they interact with each other. This is the only television program that we watch and hope it goes on for many more years.

Great---just great
I may be biased, but I absolutely love this TV drama, so every episode is interesting and a must-see. I can't get over the chemistry of the cast and the humor they add to crime scene investigation. I could watch this show all day long and not get bored.

NCIS is still the best!
The relationships between the characters continues to grow as does each individual character. Add the drama and it's the best!

Review :
NCIS moves to New Orleans...
The tested and approved NCIS franchise makes the big move to the Big Easy with "NCIS: New Orleans." Scott Bakula leads as NCIS Special Agent in charge Dwayne Cassius Pride, a former New Orleans sheriff's deputy with a long history in his home town, including a father in prison and a long-running feud with the Broussard crime family. The rest of the regular cast includes Lucas Black as Special Agent Christopher LaSalle, JAG-alumni Zoe McLellan as Special Ageny Meredith Brody, and CCH Pounder as medical examiner Dr. Loretta Wade. Lab tech Sebastian Lund and computer forensics tech Patton Plame quickly became regulars over the course of this first season.

It turns out that NCIS has a lot to do in a busy port city like New Orleans, where the Navy does a lot of business. Every week is a new crime to be solved, although there are some season-long plots to be resolved, especially with an organized crime family. The team chemistry is good and gets better, and the show leans...
I love all three NCIS series
I have stated this before. I love all three NCIS series. One must remember that each series is not going to be the same as the others in their story line or the way the characters interact with one another. In NCIS New Orleans, it has been fun to learn about the history of New Orleans as well as the stories for each week. The challenge is always there to try to solve the murder before the show does. It draws you in, keeps you there untill the end. Its just a wonderful series.

Welcome addition to the NCIS family. (No Spoilers)
4.5 stars, looking forward to a 5 star season 2.

The show was introduced in the NCIS crossover episode "Crescent City", and 5 months later the NCIS: New Orleans pilot aired. The show is not as polished as the original NCIS (Yet), the actors are getting handles on their characters, and the writers are starting up their long haul stories. Season 1 is good, but I think season 2 will be better.

The team is led by Dwayne Cassius Pride, sometimes called "King". He is a friendly NCIS Agent who loves the city of New Orleans, his family, cooking, making music, and catching bad guys.

Christopher LaSalle is next in line, he has been on Prides team for a while, raised in Alabama he talks sweet to the ladies and talks strait with the guys.

Both Pride and LaSalle have strong southern chivalrous demeanors and very good reputations throughout New Orleans.

Team newcomer Meredith Brody rounds out our main team as a profiler and...

Review :
Wait Until You See the Car
I won't be cliche and tell you that your mission, should you choose to accept it... You know the rest.

Without a doubt, this is the best of all the Mission Impossible movies, including the original. Over the years, the MI franchise had become something of a cartoon of itself. So, it seemed appropriate that Brad Bird should be chosen to helm MI4 Ghost Protocol. As the Oscar winning director of the Incredibles, he made animated cartoons seem very real. Now, he's made Mission Impossible real again. He's injected a fresh breathe of confidence, humor and camaraderie into a series that sorely needed it. He's not only re-invigorated the franchise, he's re-invigorated Tom Cruise's career as an action star. With this movie, Tom is back on top.

You'll notice that there is a lot of the Incredibles in MI4 Ghost Protocol. That's not only because of Brad Bird's influence, but because the Incredibles was a humorous homage to action films. You could say it's the IMF meets the...
Updated for Blu-ray-Well made thriller from director Brad Bird ("The Incredibles") bodes well for his future as a director
UPDATED FOR BLU-RAY:

A couple of things about the Blu-ray edition 1) Paramount has done a stunning transfer with nice depth, clarity and detail. Skin tones look quite nice as do textures. The audio is VERY active with a great losslss 7.1 mix.

Be aware however that the sequences shot in IMAX format are NOT presented in the wider aspect ratio for the film (unlike, say, "The Dark Knight"). Also this includes a code for a Ultraviolet "copy" which means you'll have to stream the film rather than upload it to your portable device. There's also a code for itunes as well if you go that route.

The special features are good for the two disc editions but I am a bit disappointed that we don't get a feature length commentary track from Brad Bird and tom Cruise but we do get Bird's commentary for the deleted scenes and alternate opening sequence for the film. We also get featurettes on the dust storm sequence (a truly amazing sequence in a film filled with them) as...
5 star movie but 3 star blu ray disc
I think there are several reviews already with the same complaints but I just thought I would add my voice to the chorus.

No spoilers.

The Movie- 5 Stars
This movie has a ton of "hands-down" moments. Among them:
- Probably one of the best pure action movies I have ever seen. Yes, the plot is silly, but this is not a movie you walk into expecting it to change your perspective on life. It's just a fun and exciting movie which puts a very nice spin on the tired franchise with the Murphy's Law conundrums. Part of the fun is watching how Tom Cruise and team find their way around everything that the plot throws at them. One of my favorite sequences in MI3 was the Italy scenes where a daring heist is carried off flawlessly. In this movie, you have tons of heist scenes where absolutely nothing goes right and the movie still manages to find that tricky signature balance between action/plausibility/humor that carries the viewer from scene to scene with bated...

Own all four Indiana Jones adventures in this Blu-ray collection.  This collection includes: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
It was followed by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1985) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), as well as a short-lived TV-series "prequel."

Temple of Doom
The second of the George Lucas/Steven Spielberg Indiana Jones epics is set a year or so before the events in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1984). After a brief brouhaha involving a precious vial and a wild ride down a raging Himalyan river, Indy (Harrison Ford) gets down to the problem at hand: retrieving a precious gem and several kidnapped young boys on behalf of a remote East Indian village. His companions this time around include a dimbulbed, easily frightened nightclub chanteuse (Kate Capshaw), and a feisty 12-year-old kid named Short Round (Quan Ke Huy). Throughout, the plot takes second place to the thrills, which include a harrowing rollercoaster ride in an abandoned mineshaft and Indy's rescue of the heroine from a ritual sacrifice. There are also a couple of cute references to Raiders of the Lost Ark, notably a funny variation of Indy's shooting of the Sherpa warrior.

Last Crusade
The third installment in the widely beloved Spielberg/Lucas Indiana Jones saga begins with an introduction to a younger Indy (played by the late River Phoenix), who, through a fast-paced prologue, gives the audience insight into the roots of his taste for adventure, fear of snakes, and dogged determination to take historical artifacts out of the hands of bad guys and into the museums in which they belong. A grown-up Indy (Harrison Ford) reveals himself shortly afterward in a familiar classroom scene, teaching archeology to a disproportionate number of starry-eyed female college students in 1938. Once again, however, Mr. Jones is drawn away from his day job after an art collector (Julian Glover) approaches him with a proposition to find the much sought after Holy Grail. Circumstances reveal that there was another avid archeologist in search of the famed cup — Indiana Jones' father, Dr. Henry Jones (Sean Connery) — who had recently disappeared during his efforts. The junior and senior members of the Jones family find themselves in a series of tough situations in locales ranging from Venice to the most treacherous spots in the Middle East. Complicating the situation further is the presence of Elsa (Alison Doody), a beautiful and intelligent woman with one fatal flaw: she's an undercover Nazi agent. The search for the grail is a dangerous quest, and its discovery may prove fatal to those who seek it for personal gain. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade earned a then record-breaking $50 million in its first week of release.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Steven Spielberg and George Lucas bring you the greatest adventurer of all time in “a nonstop thrill ride” (Richard Corliss, TIME) that’s packed with “sensational, awe-inspiring spectacles” (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finds Indy (Harrison Ford) trying to outrace a brilliant and beautiful agent (Cate Blanchett) for the mystical, all-powerful Crystal Skull of Akator. Teaming up with a rebellious young biker (Shia LaBeouf) and his spirited original love Marion (Karen Allen), Indy takes you on a breathtaking action-packed adventure in the exciting tradition of the classic Indiana Jones movies!
Raiders of the Lost Ark

It’s said that the original is the greatest, and there can be no more vivid proof than Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first and indisputably best of the initial three Indiana Jones adventures cooked up by the dream team of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

Temple of Doom

It’s hard to imagine that a film with worldwide box office receipts topping $300 million worldwide could be labeled a disappointment, but some moviegoers considered Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the second installment in Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’ 1980s adventure trilogy, to be just that. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad effort; any collaboration between these two cinema giants (Spielberg directed, while Lucas provided the story and was executive producer) is bound to have more than its share of terrific moments, and Temple of Doom is no exception. But in exchanging the very real threat of Nazi Germany for the cartoonish Thuggee cult, it loses some of the heft of its predecessor (Raiders of the Lost Ark); on the other hand, it’s also the darkest and most disturbing of the three films, what with multiple scenes of children enslaved, a heart pulled out of a man’s chest, and the immolation of a sacrificial victim, which makes it less fun than either Raiders or The Last Crusade, notwithstanding a couple of riotous chase scenes and impressively grand sets. Many fans were also less than thrilled with the new love interest, a spoiled, querulous nightclub singer portrayed by Kate Capshaw, but a cute kid sidekick ("Short Round," played by Ke Huy Quan) and, of course, the ever-reliable Harrison Ford as the cynical-but-swashbuckling hero more than make up for that character’s shortcomings.

A six-minute introduction by Lucas and Spielberg is the prime special feature, with both men candidly addressing the film’s good and bad points (Lucas points out that the second Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back, was also the darkest of the original three; as for Spielberg, the fact that the leading lady would soon become his wife was the best part of the whole trip). Also good are "The Creepy Crawlies," a mini-doc about the thousands of snakes, bugs, rats and other scary critters that populate the trilogy, and "Travels with Indy," a look at some of the films’ cool locations. Storyboards and a photo gallery are included as well. --Sam Graham

Last Crusade

Not as good as the first one, but better than the second. That’s been the consensus opinion regarding Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the final installment in Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’ original adventure trilogy, throughout the nearly two decades since its 1989 theatrical release. It’s a fair assessment. After the relatively dark and disturbing Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989) recalls the sheer fun of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). With its variety of colorful locations, multiple chase scenes (the opening sequence on a circus train, with River Phoenix as the young Indy, is one of the best of the series, as is the boat chase through the canals of Venice), and cloak-and-dagger vibe, it’s the closest in tone to a James Bond outing, which director Spielberg has noted was the inspiration for the trilogy in the first place; what’s more, it harkens back to Raiders in its choice of villains (i.e., the Nazis--Indy even comes face to face with Hitler at a rally in Berlin) and its quest for an antiquity of incalculable value and significance (the Holy Grail, the chalice said to have been the receptacle of Christ's blood as he hung on the cross). Add to that the presence of Sean Connery, playing Indy’s father and having a field day opposite Harrison Ford, and you’ve got a most welcome return to form.

Special features include a six-minute introduction by Spielberg and Lucas, who discuss the grail as a metaphor for bringing Indy and his estranged father together and agree that Crusade is the funniest of the three films; "Indy’s Women," an American Film Institute tribute with leading ladies Karen Allen, Kate Capshaw, and Alison Doody each discussing her character (Capshaw candidly describes Temple of Doom’s Willie Scott as "whiny, petulant, and annoying"); "Indy’s Friends and Enemies," a look at the films’ various villains and sidekicks; plus storyboards and photo galleries. --Sam Graham

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Nearly 20 years after riding his last Crusade, Harrison Ford makes a welcome return as archaeologist/relic hunter Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, an action-packed fourth installment that's, in a nutshell, less memorable than the first three but great nostalgia for fans of the series. Producer George Lucas and screenwriter David Koepp (War of the Worlds) set the film during the cold war, as the Soviets--replacing Nazis as Indy's villains of choice and led by a sword-wielding Cate Blanchett with black bob and sunglasses--are in pursuit of a crystal skull, which has mystical powers related to a city of gold. After escaping from them in a spectacular opening action sequence, Indy is coerced to head to Peru at the behest of a young greaser (Shia LaBeouf) whose friend--and Indy's colleague--Professor Oxley (John Hurt) has been captured for his knowledge of the skull's whereabouts. Whatever secrets the skull holds are tertiary; its reveal is the weakest part of the movie, as the CGI effects that inevitably accompany it feel jarring next to the boulder-rolling world of Indy audiences knew and loved. There's plenty of comedy, delightful stunts--ants play a deadly role here--and the return of Raiders love interest Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood, once shrill but now softened, giving her ex-love bemused glances and eye-rolls as he huffs his way to save the day. Which brings us to Ford: bullwhip still in hand, he's a little creakier, a lot grayer, but still twice the action hero of anyone in film today. With all the anticipation and hype leading up to the film's release, perhaps no reunion is sweeter than that of Ford with the role that fits him as snugly as that fedora hat. --Ellen A. Kim

BLU-RAY Comprehensive Review - Well Worth It, With One Great New Extra Feature
Swinging onto Blu-Ray at last, INDIANA JONES: THE COMPLETE ADVENTURES is undoubtedly going to rank as one of the fall's must-have format releases. Paramount's five-disc set includes the HD debuts of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" on Blu-Ray with a fourth disc of extras and a fifth ("Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull") that some fans likely feel is best left as a beverage coaster. It's a great package that starts with new AVC encoded 1080p transfers and remixed DTS MA soundtracks of each film -- and by this point, is there any reason to re-analyze Steven Spielberg and George Lucas' legendary Saturday Matinee adventures? Each entry in the original Indy trilogy is immeasurably entertaining on its own respective merits, though fans can still quibble about which one is best.

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK thankfully still retains its original on-screen title (despite its packaging as "Indiana...
Blu-ray Review: "Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures"
I am an Indiana Jones fan through and through. I have been since I saw "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as a child in 1981. The Blu-ray release of such a monumental piece of film history merits taking the day off work and viewing all the entries of the series. Yes, that DOES include "The Temple of Doom" and "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

"Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures" is what every fan of the archaeologist adventurer has been waiting for since the inception of Blu-ray. It features every film in beautiful high-definition with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" getting the special restoration treatment. The film looks beautiful both at home and on the big-screen. I took my boys to see it in the theater. The film brought tears to my eyes as I thought about the first time I saw it so many years ago and what it meant to me. This was a life-changing event for me much like seeing Star Wars was a few years earlier.

I want to stop and focus on "Raiders" for a moment since...
The absolute have to buy blu ray set
This is about the best and coolest blu ray set I have ever seen. Here's why:

Pros
1. All movies are all on blu ray, certified with the best quality assurance
2. The movies are clearer than I can remember them. I've seen the VHS editions a lot of times.
3. The sound is top notch. A lot of the time I had to turn the volume down
4. The approx. 6 hours of bonus features are priceless. They have all the bonus features from the DVD editions plus brand new ones that cover the production of all four movies
5. The trinkets if you can't see from the pictures include:
A. Condensed version of The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones
B. Five production pictures
C. A book of matches from Club Obi Wan
D. Film cell from Indy's encounter with the cobra
E. Two tickets to the Zepplin from Last Crusade
F. Ticket to the Pan Am Clipper in Raiders
G. Grail rubbing
6. For you purists out there, there are NO changes what so ever...
