Review :
The Bourne Trilogy (Blu-ray)
(Update 08/11/2012: Knowing what I know now, I've completely rewritten my reviews for the box set and individual titles from scratch, which might make some of the comments obsolete. But in exchange, I hope this review seems more in-depth now).

(Note: Since I can't fit all 3 individual reviews into one entry, I've essentially condensed it down to a general overview of the plot, A/V specs and presentation, and only a list of the special features for each. The numbers you see don't necessarily equate to technical perfection, but those are the average numbers based on each movie and rounded up to the nearest whole or half number. To read the individual reviews, use the links below).

Movie - 5.0

The first time I ever saw this film series was from a...
A note on the packaging
I couldn't figure out how to open this set. I was tugging on the sides. Then I tried to slip the case off vertically. I was on the verge of forcing open the box when I decided to google the set, hoping to see something about the packaging scheme since there is no clear indication as to how to open it. Before you force this thing open, take note: The cover image of Matt Damon is a magnet. It flips open to the left, allowing access to the discs. Enjoy.

Lots of extras
Perhaps the people who said this disc set has no extras haven't actually looked at the back of the DVD cases. Each movie has a lot of bonus material that is quite interesting. There is feature commentary with the director, interviews with cast members, deleted scenes, fight sequence planning, driving school, going on location, and lots of other really cool stuff (too much for me to write it all down here). If you are interested in how these movies were made you will really enjoy all of the bonus features.

All Regions blu-ray release, playable on all worldwide blu-ray players.

A triple bill of the films that made Mel Gibson famous. 'Mad Max' follows the revenge spree of a former cop in the post-apocalyptic future after his wife and child are murdered by a gang of vicious motorbike thugs. The sequel, 'Mad Max 2', aka 'The Road Warrior', features loner Max helping a small oil-producing community defend itself against a band of crazed thugs. Finally, in the bigger budget 'Mad Max - Beyond Thunderdome', Max comes up against a barbaric society led by a warrior queen (Tina Turner).

Review :
A Phenomenal Series Given a Solid, if Unspectacular, Blu-Ray Treatment
Soon after George Miller's "Mad Max" and "The Road Warrior" burst onto the cinematic landscape in the early `80s, they ushered in a whole new genre of thrillers where warring gangs ruled the roads, fighting for gasoline and whatever scraps of food were left behind by scavengers. Many of those imitators have been (deservedly) forgotten as the years have passed, yet the MAD MAX TRILOGY itself remains a favorite of fans, with Miller's brilliantly edited set-pieces keeping viewers enthralled despite the familiar settings of a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Warner Home Video's newly-released Blu-Ray box-set of the "Mad Max Trilogy" offers - in a single, three-disc Blu-Ray case (housed inside a slightly unattractive oversized tin) - a reprise of MGM's original "Mad Max" BD; a new AVC encode of "The Road Warrior," premiering here with a DTS MA soundtrack; and the HD debut of the third film in the series, "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome."

The original MAD MAX finds Mel Gibson...
Four Stars for the Films, Three Stars for the Blu-Ray Set
First thing's first: this US Blu-Ray set is 100% NOT Region Free.

MAD MAX is Region A locked, so do not buy this set if you don't own a multi-region or Region A compatible Blu-Ray player. MAD MAX 2/THE ROAD WARRIOR and MAD MAX: BEYOND THUNDERDOME however, are both Region Free!

Right, onto the films and the set itself.

MAD MAX: The first movie is fantastic: a jaw-dropping action film like no other, made at a time without CGI, when stunt men and women really put their lives in danger, for our entertainment.

The disc allows viewers to watch the film in the original Australian audio-track in a newly-created DTS HD Master Audio 6.1 soundtrack or dual-mono if you prefer, or the horrifically awful US English Dub, (in dual-mono only) in which many of the characters are dubbed into American English. Not only does it sound terrible as a soundtrack, it's a pretty ropey dub. Considering all the dubbers had to do was translate Australian English into...
Decent collection with a few new highlights
Since "Fury Road" (the fourth Mad Max film) is up for release next year, this three-disc collection serves up the first "trilogy" of Mad Max films from 1978-1985 to attract new fans. Two of the three movies ("Mad Max" and "The Road Warrior", aka "Mad Max 2") have been released on Blu-ray already, and the content of those two discs remains mostly the same. In fact, "Mad Max" is basically the same disc with new artwork, but "The Road Warrior" features slightly better video quality (due to a new encoding) and a terrific new lossless DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track. The bonus features on both discs are identical.

The third film, "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome", is new to Blu-ray and debuts as part of this collection. Sadly, the only extra is the film's trailer (older releases, including the DVD, were the same way), but at least the A/V quality is quite good. Other than that, this three-disc collection is packaged in a nice metal tin and looks cool.

If you already own...

Review :
Extended Blu ray: Do you need if you already own extended DVD editions? Review for both beginners and Die Hard LOTR fans
This is NOT the review of the movies. I am solely reviewing the facts that what EXTRA you get in this set than the previous editions. I will start with very basic facts for those who are baffled by so many editions being out there.
The basic facts-
LOTR series has basically two types of movies- a) Theatrical and b) Extended, each edition are available in both-DVD and Blu ray format.
Extended versions of the movies have humongous amount of extra film footage added to the theatrical editions (approx. 30, 40 and 50 additional minutes for movie 1, 2 and 3 respectively). So, go for the extended editions only if you are a die hard fan of the movies. If you are not, the review ends here. Buy whichever movie you like in your preferred format and enjoy. Thanks.

FOR LOTR FANS-
Let's get straight to-the-point. Now, many of you may as well own the DVD versions of LOTR (Either Theatrical or Extended ot both), and if you are trying to make a decision whether to spend...
The Ultimate DVD set for all time!
I already reviewed the regular "Motion Picture Trilogy" containing the non-extended editions of the legendary Lord of The Rings masterpieces on one set. However, this newest edition is a grand improvement on the previous edition. This item is a much, MUCH better investment than the old theatrical counterparts and is perhaps the greatest DVD purchase one will likely ever make.

A lot "Director's Cut" scenes are usually just added footage that doesn't do a whole lot to add onto the theatrical edition of movies with examples like Star Wars, Manhunter, or even most of the "Aliens" movies as well. The extra material is just that, extras, that wouldn't kill me to never see again.

It's a totally different story altogether with the "Lord Of The Rings" movies altogether. While the regular theatrical editions were mind-blowing, the extended cuts of the same films do wonders in fleshing out the story and expanding the characters a lot more. Several characters that were not...
LOTR - FAQ for the Blu-ray Extended Edition
Q - Is it worth it, especially if I already have the DVD edition?
A - To me it is because I like to watch movies at home on the biggest possible screen at the highest possible resolution. I still have the DVD editions - which I'm keeping because I like the artwork - and the quality gain on the Blu is significant.

Q - Could this edition be viewed as 'the gold standard'?
A - Yes. It has the extended cuts at the highest resolution with the best sound and the most extensive collection of special features.

Q - How many Blu-ray discs are in the box?
A - There are SIX Blu-ray discs. The additional 9 'extras' or 'bonus' discs are DVDs.

Q - Are the movies delivered on one disc each?
A - No. See above. Like the DVD extended edition, the movies are delivered on 2 discs each.

Q - Why aren't the movies delivered on one Blu-ray disc each?
A - Most Blu-ray players can only read single layer (25GB) and dual layer discs (50GB). Each...

Bonus materials
If you're buying this collection, it is obvious you're a fan of the Pegg/Frost/Wright movies. This review clarifies the bonus materials found in the Blu-Ray collection of the three movies in the "Cornetto Trilogy."

The product description is a little vague on the bonus materials that go with this release. Sometimes disk collections skimp on the bonus materials that are found in the normal release. Fortunately, this is not the case with this collection. The disks are loaded with commentaries, out takes, deleted scenes, featurettes, etc., etc., etc.

The back of the box indicates: "Over six hours of apocalyptic bonus features! Including 9 feature commentaries, 11 featurettes, out-takes, deleted scenes and much, much more."

By the way, if you finish these and want more of the same vein, you really must check out "Spaced." It was a 14-epidode TV series, and an absolute must for geeks that love Pegg/Frost/Wright creations.

A SLICE OF FRIED GOLD
Chances are you don’t really need to read reviews on this. If you’re looking at this item, you probably want to buy it. But maybe you’re wondering:

Is it three boxes with a wrap to hold them, or one box with three discs?

I can answer that: It’s one box. It has one of those inserts that holds a disc on both sides, plus one on the back part of the inside of the case. One box, three discs, and a cardboard wrapper because who like trees, anyways?

The ultimate three flavors Cornetto Trilogy!!
Three slices of fried gold are what I call the movies in this collection. I can't really decide which I like the best because each definitely has its own special "flavor". Despite sharing hilarious comedy gags and themes of maturity & friendship.

Shaun of the Dead - is a love letter to George Romero Zombie films & the movie that serves to introduce the talented team of: Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost to mainstream audiences.

Hot Fuzz - is a hilarious nod to buddy cop films & has a lot of great over the top action.

The World's End - wraps up "The Trilogy" and is another great nod to Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Also serving to prove that you really can't go home again.

This Blu-ray collection is also packed with extras for each film giving the fan plenty of behind the scenes Cornetto comedy.

Batman Begins:

Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

The Dark Knight:

The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves effective, but soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker, who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces Batman closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante. Heath Ledger stars as archvillain The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart plays Dent. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the cast as Rachel Dawes. Returning from Batman Begins are Gary Oldman as Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.

The Dark Knight Rises:

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

Disregard all the naysayers claiming this is a money grab. No, it's called having a choice. Not everyone wants the Super Duper Ultra Rare Limited Collector's Edition, that's often filled with a bunch of useless physical items. Some people just want to have the trilogy and nothing more. For $30 (currently), you get just that, and even a little bit more.

You get the following in the Blu-ray edition:

Disc 1: Batman Begins Feature Film
Disc 2: The Dark Knight Feature Film

If you're reading this, odds are you already own at least one of the movies included here. Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy stands as one of the best, and most successful comic book screen adaptations of all time. Warner has released, and re-released these movies several times over the years. Unfortunately, previous Blu-ray releases have not been perfect. The picture quality left videophiles wanting a remastering of the films (well at least Batman Begins and TDK), but sadly after such a long wait, Warner will be...
Excellent
Just got mine in the mail. It does indeed come with UltraViolet copies of all 3 movies!

It also comes with:
A 64 page excerpt from "The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy."

Batman Begins: 1 disc (Movie and special features together)
The Dark Knight: 2 discs (Movie and special features are separate)
The Dark Knight Rises: 2 discs (Movie and special features are separate)

And a code for discounted memorabilia. I will be posting some pictures soon.

Hope this helps!

Review :
Finally! A Proper U.S. Blade Trilogy Blu-Ray Release!
I've been recently wanting to expand my Blu-Ray collection and the Blade films were on my list. So after searching on Amazon, I found out there has never been a proper or acceptable Blu-Ray release of any of the films. According to the customer reviews, the single film Blu-ray versions were bad releases and the one and only Blade Collection on Amazon is a mess. The box is in French, apparently there are no menus, no subtitles, no bonus features and the picture quality is appalling.

Well I pre-ordered this set with the hopes that Warner Bros. finally did the Blade franchise justice with a proper release.
And I can say they nailed it!

So upon opening the case, I was greeted with 3 individual discs. On the left side, Blade, then on the right side on the same spiral holder, Blade II and Blade Trinity.

No other inserts, just the discs and the case. Thats it.

I can also quickly say each disc has been nicely fitted with Special Features...
Good Set, but not Perfect
Trinity is a Bit Off. It's an extended version with extra scenes and material. That's ok but they changed the end of the movie. That would be ok, more or less, but it made for an incosnsistancy that was annoying. Still a very good set, especially for the price

THIS is THE blu-ray BLADE TRILOGY
I ordered that "other" blu-ray Blade Trilogy (I think it was Canadian based?), the one with the horrible aspect ratios and very strange audio at times... like shotguns that sounded so whimpishly fake, etc. Yeah, some of you know the one. The one that some of us may have ordered having given up on a proper American based release.

I pre-ordered this Warner Bros. release since all indicators were that the aspect ratios were going to be corrected. And if they were going to do that, it was my best case scenario hope that the audio would be fine as well. Was it worth the gamble? By gosh.... THIS is THE blu-ray BLADE TRILOGY that you have been waiting for - at any price (and this happens to be a very, very good price)!

While the packaging leaves a bit to be desired (never did like stacking discs), it doesn't matter. Why? Because that "other" Blade Trilogy came with 3 individual cases in a box set! Guess who swapped out discs? :)

If you love...

Jurassic Park: Great Video & (finally) Uncompressed Audio
In the light of so many negative customer reviews of this set, I decided, before writing this review to do a direct comparison between the DVD version of Jurassic Park vs. the Blu-ray. I made it a point to set my BD player audio compression to wide range and set the volume levels for each version to be approximately at the same level for the spoken dialog to give each version a fair comparison.

I chose four sections to compare:

1. The scene at Sam Neill's dig beginning with the brushing away of sand from a fossil.
2. The helicopter ride into Jurassic Park.
3. The first encounter with the brachiosaurus beginning when the jeeps come to a stop and Sam Neill and Laura Dern first see the creature.
4. The night storm scene with the T-Rex encounter.

All of the above begin at a chapter change of both disc versions, making them quick to locate.

The video: In no instance can the DVD version compare with the Blu-ray.

In...
DINO-MITE!!!
Yeah, I know the title of this review is corny, but you have to admit that this is a pretty nice boxed set. It contains all three films from the "Jurassic Park" film series. The first film stands alone as one of the most impressive and progressive films of its time. It featured the best special effects of its time and each film builds on these effects. Let's break each film down:

"Jurassic Park" Five stars

Perhaps the greatest dinosaur film ever made, "Jurassic Park" features brilliant special effects, wonderful acting and a great plotline filled with suspense and horror. With Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Richard Attenborough heading up a small cast of characters including Samuel L. Jackson, this film is sure to be a winner in anyone's collection. Briefly, this is the tale of a man who hopes to cash in on genetically bred dinosaurs by creating a sort of theme park that allows the average man to get an up-close-and-personal look at T-Rex,...
Great deal
I've had the ultimate trilogy for some time now and the 3d version as well but I had to pick this set up anyways. Mostly as a gift for my grandchildren. This set is worth it mainly for the 3d with its remixed 7.1 audio over the remastered audio of the 2011 bluray version.

This is considered a remixed audio version because of some subtle differences from the earlier bluray 7.1 audio. I'm told you won't easily hear the difference unless, perhaps, if you're looking for it or unless you're really 'tuned' in to it. I, for one, do hear the subtle differences from my audio system. And it is amazing to my ears. To me, this is worth buying just for that.

As far as bluray picture quality. I believe the original 2011 bluray version of Jurassic Park I is a bit sharper. This remastered version seems to me to have removed most of film grain and so a lot of noise and doesn't look all that sharp to me anymore. I, for one, prefer a little film grain in my older movies...

A great collection that does this trilogy full justice
Before I had purchased this collection, I had recently bought the Original Star Wars Trilogy Collection in the same type of volume, with three Blu-Ray discs and three normal DVDs. And I must say, I was really amazed with that one: they took movies as old as those and made them look almost like a movie released nowadays without taking away any of it's originality. And considering that the prequel trilogy was released more recently and already had amazing CGI and effects, I expected quite allot from this volume. And I wasn't disappointed in the least.

The original DVD releases for each of the prequel trilogy episodes are of pretty high quality in themselves. But here, on Blu-Ray, the quality, picture and sound are just outstandingly amazing. There is no "digital noise" to be seen here, a problem which really bugged me with there previous releases: especially in the first episode, which had the most room...
Just A Consumer Report
I really just want to take a few paragraphs to let you know what this product is.

Basically, each of these movies got a 2-disc release when they were released on DVD. This box set has taken those 2-disc sets, and packaged them into a smaller case so in order to minimize shelf space. The "Original Trilogy" (Episodes 4-6) slimset is a debatable purchase, because it doesn't include the bonus disc that came with an earlier deluxe set. But this "Prequel Trilogy" is a better deal if you're planning to buy these movies.

As for the extras:
* I love "The Phantom Menace" content, especially the 90-minute making-of documentary that shows everything from cast readings to sandstorm carnage to special effects meetings to George Lucas quietly beginning his "Episode II" writing. And say what you will about the quality of the movie, but Fox and LucasFilm did an excellent job of advertising this movie. Even its promotional extras are worth watching.

This specific subject delivers exceeded own prospect, this has chaned into a amazing upgrade on myself personally, The thought showed up correctly as well as quickly The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (The Fellowship of the Ring / The Two Towers / The Return of the King Extended Editions) [Blu-ray]

The Fellowship of the Ring; A meek hobbit of the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring and the dark lord Sauron. The Two Towers: While Frodo and Sam edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum, the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron's new ally, Saruman, and his hordes of Isengard. The Return of the King: Gandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron's army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring. Peter Jackson directs these action adventure movies starring Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchet and more. This special edition of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy includes theatrical and extended editions of the movies on 15 Blu-Ray discs. As the triumphant start of a trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring leaves you begging for more. By necessity, Peter Jackson's ambitious epic compresses J.R.R. Tolkien's classic The Lord of the Rings, but this robust adaptation maintains reverent allegiance to Tolkien's creation, instantly qualifying as one of the greatest fantasy films ever made. At 178 minutes, it's long enough to establish the myriad inhabitants of Middle-earth, the legendary Rings of Power, and the fellowship of hobbits, elves, dwarves, and humans--led by the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and the brave hobbit Frodo (Elijah Wood)--who must battle terrifying forces of evil on their perilous journey to destroy the One Ring in the land of Mordor. Superbly paced, the film is both epic and intimate, offering astonishing special effects and production design while emphasizing the emotional intensity of Frodo's adventure, and ends on a perfect note of heroic loyalty and rich anticipation.

After the breaking of the Fellowship, Frodo and Sam journey to Mordor with the creature Gollum as their guide in The Two Towers. Meanwhile, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) join in the defense of the people of Rohan, who are the first target in the eradication of the race of Men by the renegade wizard Saruman (Christopher Lee) and the dark lord Sauron. Fantastic creatures, astounding visual effects, and a climactic battle at the fortress of Helm's Deep make The Two Towers a worthy successor to The Fellowship of the Ring, grander in scale but retaining the story's emotional intimacy.

With The Return of the King, the greatest fantasy epic in film history draws to a grand and glorious conclusion. The trilogy could never fully satisfy those who remain exclusively loyal to Tolkien's expansive literature, but as a showcase for physical and technical craftsmanship it is unsurpassed in pure scale and ambition, setting milestone after cinematic milestone as Frodo and Sam continue their mission to Mordor to destroy the soul-corrupting One Ring. While the heir to the kingdom of Men, Aragorn, endures the massive battle at Minas Tirith with the allegiance of Legolas, Gimli, and Gandalf, Frodo and Sam must survive the schizoid deceptions of Gollum, who remains utterly convincing as a hybrid of performance (by Andy Serkis) and subtly nuanced computer animation. Jackson and cowriters Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens have much ground to cover; that they do so with intense pacing and epic sweep is impressive enough, but by investing greater depth and consequence in the actions of fellow hobbits Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd), they ensure that The Return of the King maintains the trilogy's emphasis on intimate fellowship and remains faithful to Tolkien's overall vision. By ending the LOTR trilogy with noble integrity and faith in the power of imaginative storytelling, The Return of the King, like its predecessors, will stand as an adventure for the ages. --Jeff Shannon and David Horiuchi

Our Review of the Extended Edition on DVD (Dec. 14, 2004):

The extended editions of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings present the greatest trilogy in film history in the most ambitious sets in DVD history. In bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's nearly unfilmable work to the screen, Jackson benefited from extraordinary special effects, evocative New Zealand locales, and an exceptionally well-chosen cast, but most of all from his own adaptation with co-writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, preserving Tolkien's vision and often his very words, but also making logical changes to accommodate the medium of film. While purists complained about these changes and about characters and scenes left out of the films, the almost two additional hours of material in the extended editions (about 11 hours total) help appease them by delving more deeply into Tolkien's music, the characters, and loose ends that enrich the story, such as an explanation of the Faramir-Denethor relationship, and the appearance of the Mouth of Sauron at the gates of Mordor. In addition, the extended editions offer more bridge material between the films, further confirming that the trilogy is really one long film presented in three pieces (which is why it's the greatest trilogy ever--there's no weak link). The scene of Galadriel's gifts to the Fellowship added to the first film proves significant over the course of the story, while the new Faramir scene at the end of the second film helps set up the third and the new Saruman scene at the beginning of the third film helps conclude the plot of the second.

To top it all off, the extended editions offer four discs per film: two for the longer movie, plus four commentary tracks and stupendous DTS 6.1 ES sound; and two for the bonus material, which covers just about everything from script creation to special effects. The argument was that fans would need both versions because the bonus material is completely different, but the features on the theatrical releases are so vastly inferior that the only reason a fan would need them would be if they wanted to watch the shorter versions they saw in theaters (the last of which, The Return of the King, merely won 11 Oscars). The LOTR extended editions without exception have set the DVD standard by providing a richer film experience that pulls the three films together and further embraces Tolkien's world, a reference-quality home theater experience, and generous, intelligent, and engrossing bonus features. --David Horiuchi

Each...

Review :
BE CAREFUL!!!
This is just an alert since there seems to be some confusion about a trilogy release with the original unaltered versions along with the special editions vs a trilogy set that only contains the special editions and no copies of the original unaltered versions.

The reviews for both sets are merged together... that is why you are seeing people claim that it has the original unaltered versions, and people complaining they do not. THIS set that I specifically clicked on to make this comment on is on the 2004 release which DOES NOT CONTAIN THE ORIGINAL UNALTERED VERSIONS. The box image is silver and has Darth Vader's mask on the box. This set ONLY contains the SE along with a 4th bonus disc of making of features and trailers and a sneak peak at episode III. If you want the trilogy set that contains both the SE and the unaltered versions but no bonus features, make sure when purchasing from Amazon, that the picture is a picture of Darth Vader and Luke clashing with light sabers...
Not buying until we get remastered '77, '80', and '83 versions
Memo to George Lucas: I am not buying any more of your movies until you give us the REMASTERED films as they were ORIGINALLY. Han shoots first. Hayden Christiansen's ghost does not appear at the end of ROTJ. The original nub nub Ewok music is put back into the film, and the original Jabba's Palace band music is restored, etc. etc. Get the picture? You can do it, George. And don't tell us that the original negatives for these films no longer exist, because I don't believe you. If you think you are going to keep me buying and rebuying and rebuying the same product over and over and over again, then think again, because I'm not coming along for the ride.

I repeat: As soon as you release the original 1977, 1980, and 1983 versions of the films AS THEY WERE ORIGINALLY - and they MUST be remastered - not grainy laserdisc transfers. Then, and ONLY then, can you have any more of my money.

Just give the fans what they want. Is that too much to ask?

Another Vote for "ORIGINAL THEATRICAL RELEASES"
It's real simple, George. The vast majority of people who will buy the Blu-Ray versions are middle-aged nostalgia hounds. These people will NOT pony up more of their hard-earned dough for CGI "enhancements." They WILL, however, whip out their credit cards for the ORIGINAL THEATRICAL RELEASES faster than Han Solo's draw-down on Greedo.

Find your best exant print each film of the original trilogy. Have the ILM lab boys scan in every frame @ 4k. Do the LEAST amount of color correction and dust/scratch removal--only in a restoration sense, not "improving color" or anything like that. Approach it like archivists.

Use your technical advancements to do the finest BR encoding of those individual frames. I want to see film grain, dude. Matte lines. Pancake makeup. Absolutely naked and unvarnished. The final result should be a monument to the format, really.

Do the same with the audio.

If your ego won't let you "let go" of your CGI...

Each...
